A perfect place to get away from it all and recharge your batteries, from the tranquility of the large mature Caribbean gardens to the stunning sea views out to the glistening Caribbean sea as can be seen from the front terrace, to the rear there are equally stunning uninterrupted countryside views where monkeys can be seen regularly. This is also where you will find the entertaining space with swimming pool, palm trees & gardens leading to the large decking area.

Mariposa House is located on the famous platinum west coast on the St James / St Peter border and is within walking distance of Barbados’s best beaches, Gibbs beach and Mullins beach are walkable within 10-12 minutes, or 1-2 mins by car which is recommended for Barbados as there is the whole island to explore with so much to do.

Many of the best restaurants are all a short drive or taxi ride away from the house. On foot the nearest restaurant is 10-12 mins walk, notably the Sea Shed restaurant and the Royal Westmoreland Beach Club. Holetown is 6km away with its vast array of amenities including the Limegrove centre with high end fashion shops, restaurants and Massy's supermarket selling a vast selection of foods and beverages including the waitrose range. Also banks, doctors, cafes, restaurants including the famous “Tides” restaurants, petrol station, La Baguette bakery, plus much more can be found in Holetown. Speightstown is 4.5 kms away where you will find Jordans supermarket, petrol station and bakery.

A taxi or car is recommended for the property at night time when venturing out. Mariposa House sits on an elevated position and allows for a far reaching view of the gorgeous Caribbean seas and privacy yet minutes away from everything you could wish for.

Mariposa House is a 1900 sq ft gated property, benefiting from an American style kitchen complete with fridge freezer, bread maker, juicer, coffee machine, microwave and blender. The kitchen connects with the open plan living room which leads out to the terrace where a fabulous Caribbean sea view can be seen beyond the garden palm trees. From there leads to a light and airy dining hall which can seat upto 6 people, where you can also access the amazing pool area complete with decking, sun-loungers, bar seating, outside dining area for 6, and the rear facing garden with private countryside/gully views as far as the eyes can see.

At night fireflies can be seen and the enchanting sounds of the whistling/singing frogs. By day monkeys can be seen in the gully which also belongs to the property.

Inside there is a laundry room for your use, or if you wish to opt for daily cleaning your maid can do this for you. The double bedroom has views of the Caribbean sea, air conditioning, fitted wardrobes, hairdryer, tv and access to the jack n jill leading to bedroom 2 which has an ensuite complete with shower, bidet, toilet and vanity, also with sea views.

Bedroom 3, the master bedroom is a luxurious suite complete with air conditioning, tv, views to countryside/gully with access to the rear gardens through double sliding doors. The bedroom has a lovely seating area, comfortable king size bed and an envious walk in closet complete with safe and ample storage. The bedroom connects to an ensuite expansive spa style bathroom with jacuzzi bath , luxury walk in wet room complete with a massage shower, twin vanity units and a separate toilet with bidet.

Electrical usage if deemed excessive will incur an additional fee - usually this is due to excessive air conditioning usage if running and doors are open or left running while you are out of the property.
